Hello art lovers,

Do you love myths and stories? Would you like to discover or develop your unique style in your work?

If your answer is "yes", read on!

I'm going to be teaching in Ever After this year! And I can give away 1 space in this magical collaborative art course! I'll tell you how to enter the giveaway at the end of this post, but first:

What is Ever After?

If you don't know about Ever After, it is a mixed media online art course with an optional but elaborate module on style development.

As the name of the course suggests, the lessons come with a fairytale theme, and you will uncover your unique style through storytelling. The host Tamara Laporte from Willowing Arts has carefully developed and structured the course to help you achieve that.

In addition, there are 14 mixed media art teachers who will all share beautiful fairytale and myth-inspired lessons with you, and they will all share their hints, tips, and experiences when it comes to developing their own style, and how you too can find your own unique voice as an artist.

You can find out all the details and sign up at the Early Bird price by clicking here. Simply use code MAGIC2018 at checkout to get 20% off. This Early Bird offer expires on 5th July.

The Story of Kuan Yin

My chosen story is about Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Compassion. The name Kuan Yin, is short for Kuan-Shi Yin, meaning (the one who) perceives the sounds (or cries) of the human world.

Kuan Yin is greatly loved and highly respected in many Asian cultures. She has achieved enlightenment and is able to leave the world of human suffering and become a Budha, but she has forgone Nirvana (a place of perfect peace like heaven) in order to stay with humanity, to ease our pain, to offer comfort in our suffering, and to save us as "children of God".

I love the many stories of Kuan Yin, some of them even involve Western travellers, and I cannot wait to share some with you!

Play with Oil Pastel

Technique wise, I'm excited to sharing oil pastel techniques with you, much like you see in this painting above. We will be exploring these yummy creaming little sticks of magic, and make painterly looking artworks!

So if you want to start exploring your own personal story through fairytales and mythologies, and hang out with a wonderful creative community of like-minded souls, be sure to join once registration opens on 15th May. Keep this page bookmarked so you can sign up the moment it goes on sale!
